I was delighted when Siobhan and David asked me photograph their Islington Wedding. I just love London weddings with the variety and cosmopolitan feel and the general buzz and excitement. Most of my weddings come from recommendations and this was no exception as I had photographed Siobhan’s friend, Vanessa wedding at Hengrave Hall last January 2012
Siobhan’s wedding was very local indeed. I started off capturing some preparation shots at their appartment in Islington before literally walking around the corner to Islington Town Hall for the ceremony. This was my third visit here in recent years and its a venue I really enjoy working at with lots of space, good light and interesting architecture. The staff and registrars are also very friendly allowing me to photograph as I wish. After a short ceremony we headed outside for some formal group shots on the steps. Then it was another short walk, literally a few hundred yards, to the reception. This is simply called Public House which is a really cool British gastro type pub with a bohemian twist – lots of unusual furniture, dripping candles and subdued lighting. Quite challenging photographically but something I really enjoyed. Here the guests were served the most wonderful food and cocktails which was followed by the speeches and cake cutting. The day was concluded by music and dancing into the early hours before I had rush off to catch the last train home.
A fantastic unforgettable day was had by all as you can see from some of my favourites below. The complete set can also be viewed in the client area of my main website by clicking here.
