Vidhi Ceremony Photography
Welcome to Day 3 of Lena and Andrew’s wedding celebrations. Today was the Vidhi Ceremony which took place at Lena’s mother’s house as did the Mehndi ceremony the day before. This is a very colourful and emotional ceremony as you can see below and is the start of the wedding itself before the main celebrations (coming next). It was great to meet up again with the really cool Chanda Vyas who performed the ceremony. I first met Chanda back in September 2010 for Serena and Ivan’s Kelmarsh Hall Wedding and was really impressed with her sense of fun and informality. Not only that but she is the first female Hindu Priest in the UK.
After Chanda had performed the ceremony Lena was pasted in Devi (a kind of turmeric paste) by family and friends which looked great fun and caused a lot of laughter. Finally more wonderful food was served before the guests left in preparation for the final ceremony at West Wycombe Park the next day.
Here are some of my favourites from the day below and please feel free to comment. As before the complete set can also be viewed by clicking here. Please ask Lena or Andrew for the password. I’ve also posted so images to my Facebook business page which you re more than welcome to visit and to tag yourselves if you appear in any of the images. Watch this space for Day 4. Not to be missed !
