Last month I had the pleasure of doing Julia and Tom’s wedding photography at RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).
I’ve heard lots of good things about RIBA from my colleagues who often tell me what a great venue it is for photography. As this was my first visit there and having had a break for several weeks I was raring to go.
First of all I started at the church in Islington for the wedding ceremony itself. This was a very traditional ceremony in a beautiful setting before we all headed off to the reception at RIBA. On the way there we stopped off in a local park to take some informal portraits. Tom and Julia wanted to make the most of the weather and to take photos with the spring blossom, very much in abundance this time of year. This went very well before we joined the rest of the wedding party who had already arrived at RIBA. I wasn’t disappointed with the setting, it was certainly true what my colleagues had said ! There were interesting shots from every corner with very favourable light. The wedding breakfast was followed by speeches and cake cutting before Tom and Julia launched into the 1st dance. The band were pretty impressive and certainly got everyone dancing till the early hours.
This was one of my favourite weddings for a while, one that I’ll remember with great fondness. I very much hope to return there one day. As usual the complete set can be viewed by clicking here. Just click on their image and enter the password (you’ll know it from the hint). I’ve also loaded some favourites to my Facebook page Please feel free to pop over and to tag yourselves if you appear in the images. Below are also some of my many favourites from the day. Please feel free to add any comments. Enjoy !
